Aquavoltaics Services by Farmdo India Pvt Ltd

Farmdo India Pvt Ltd is a pioneer in integrating renewable energy with sustainable aquaculture through its innovative Aquavoltaics solutions. We specialize in designing, developing, and implementing floating solar power systems combined with advanced aquaculture practices to maximize resource efficiency and generate multiple revenue streams.

Our Aquavoltaics Offerings:

Elevated Solar Power Installations:
Deployment of high-efficiency solar panels on water bodies such as ponds, reservoirs, canals, and fish farms. Our floating solar systems reduce water evaporation, improve panel performance through natural cooling, and optimize the use of otherwise underutilized water surfaces.

Integrated Aquaculture Solutions:
We incorporate modern fish farming techniques alongside solar installations. This includes sustainable stocking, feeding optimization, water quality management, and disease control to enhance fish yield and health, ensuring a profitable aquaculture business.

Customized Project Development:
From feasibility studies and site assessment to engineering design, installation, and commissioning, Farmdo India offers end-to-end project management tailored to the unique needs of each client and location.

Community and Farmer Engagement:
We prioritize training and capacity building for local communities and fish farmers, empowering them with the skills and knowledge needed to sustain and grow their aquaculture ventures under our integrated energy model.

Sustainability and Impact Focus:
Our aquavoltaic projects are designed to promote environmental stewardship by reducing carbon footprints, conserving water, and enhancing rural livelihoods through diversified income sources.

1. Elevated Solar + Cold Chain for Premium Fish Sales

  • Base: Freshwater fish farming (tilapia, pangasius).

  • Value Addition: Use solar power to run aerators, ice-makers, and cold rooms.

  • Impact: Fish can be sold fresh-chilled to urban supermarkets at a 15–20% premium instead of being sold locally at wholesale rates.

2. Shrimp Farming with Renewable Energy Branding

  • Base: Brackish water shrimp culture.

  • Value Addition: Install floating PV to power water quality monitoring sensors and pumps, ensuring consistent dissolved oxygen levels.

  • Impact: Improves survival rates, meets export quality standards, and allows branding as “sustainably farmed with solar energy”, fetching higher export prices.

3. Integrated Fish + Algae Production

  • Base: Carp culture pond.

  • Value Addition: Panels reduce light intensity, preventing excessive algal bloom, while selected edible/industrial algae are grown in controlled zones.

  • Impact: Sale of algae for nutraceuticals, cosmetics, or biofertilizers provides a second revenue

  • stream alongside fish sales.

4. Evaporation Reduction for Increased Stocking Density

  • Base: Seasonal freshwater fish farm in hot climates.

  • Value Addition: Floating solar reduces evaporation by ~35%, keeping water levels stable longer into the dry season.

  • Impact: Enables higher stocking density and additional production cycles, increasing annual yield without expanding pond area.

5. Community Aquaculture + Energy Sharing Model

  • Base: Cooperative fish farming in rural ponds.

  • Value Addition: Install a shared aquavoltaics system; excess solar power sold to the grid funds community-owned feed mills and processing units.

  • Impact: Members earn from both fish sales and shared electricity revenue, improving community income resilience.
