Biomass to Biographene
Biographene.png

Farmdo's Biomass to biographene is an innovative, sustainable process that transforms organic waste materials such as agricultural residues, forestry by-products, and food waste into high-value graphene-like carbon structures. The process begins with cleaning, drying, and grinding biomass into fine particles, followed by carbonization through pyrolysis to remove volatile components and concentrate carbon. Using catalytic graphitization—often with metal catalysts like iron, nickel, or manganese—the amorphous biochar is converted into graphitic carbon, which is then exfoliated or milled to produce few-layer graphene or graphene oxide. The final product is purified to remove impurities, resulting in a renewable, eco-friendly alternative to conventional graphene. This approach not only reduces waste and greenhouse gas emissions but also opens pathways for affordable graphene applications in electronics, composites, energy storage, water filtration, and environmental remediation.

Process:

1. Pre-Treatment & Preparation

2. Carbonization (Pyrolysis)

3. Catalytic Graphitization (Carbon Growth or Direct Conversion)

4. Exfoliation or Milling

5. Purification & Post-Treatment
